Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Clearpath Timber Medical Group is a Indianapolis company producing monitoring and surgical equipment, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Engineers and clinicians sit at the same table. What you will do • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with complaint handling. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Indianapolis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
