Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Ironwood River Staffing Associates connects candidates and employers across the Nashville region, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 177 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Track costs around onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
