Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Silverline North Markets is a Colorado Springs retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 731 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with promotions. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Colorado Springs. • We reply to every applicant.
