Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Highbridge Basin Health Group runs clinics and patient services around Richmond. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. We are busy and kind, and we look after each other. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around patient education against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with referrals. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
