Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Amberfield Meadow Press is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for bindery work, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 119 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to bindery work, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with bindery work. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Orlando. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
