Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Silverline Lantern Construction Group is a Richmond contractor with project managers, trades and support staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to change orders, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with change orders. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
