Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Ironwood Cedar Foods Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for sanitation schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 457 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with sanitation schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Madison. • We reply to every applicant.
