Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Rook Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer complaints, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with customer complaints. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Fort Worth. • We reply to every applicant.
