Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Northwind Bright Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Albuquerque plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lines, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with production lines. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
