Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Fox Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around warranty claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer estimates. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Milwaukee. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
