Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Stonegate Birch Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Fresno. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with loads and lanes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
