Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Silverline Junction Construction delivers building projects for owners across the St. Louis region, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to change orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
