Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Bright Junction Manufacturing is a Charleston manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 964 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to machine downtime, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Charleston. • We reply to every applicant.
