Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Rivermark Fern Telecom Group is a telecommunications provider in Des Moines focused on reliable home and business connections, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 149 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tickets, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer tickets. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
