Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Rivermark Timber Housing provides affordable homes and support services around San Antonio, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to waiting lists, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with waiting lists. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in San Antonio. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
