Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Foxglove Kestrel Markets is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for shrink and waste, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with shrink and waste. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Phoenix. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
