Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Highbridge North Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Buffalo. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with customer estimates. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Buffalo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
