Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Rivermark Linden Farms is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for seasonal crews, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with seasonal crews. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
