Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Silverline Quarry Environmental Services collects and processes waste and recycling around Omaha, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Omaha. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
