Accountant - accounts payable (Raleigh, NC)

Silverline Sable Manufacturing Associates is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for scrap and rework, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around production lines against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with scrap and rework. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Raleigh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
