Accountant - accounts payable (Raleigh, NC)

Redstone Meridian Freight is a Raleigh logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Raleigh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
