Accountant - accounts payable (Raleigh, NC)

Nova Kestrel Auto Group serves drivers and dealerships across the Raleigh region. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to parts orders, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with parts orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Raleigh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
