Accountant - accounts payable (Portland, OR)

We are growing our team at Cedar Quarry Environmental Services Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fleet maintenance, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with fleet maintenance.
