Accountant - accounts payable (Pittsburgh, PA)

Silverline Fern Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Pittsburgh design routes and schedules, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ridership counts, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around service alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Pittsburgh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
