Accountant - accounts payable (Phoenix, AZ)

Harborlight Haven Pharma is a pharmaceutical company in Phoenix producing generic and specialty treatments, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 303 people based in Phoenix. What you will do • Track costs around cleanroom operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with batch records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Phoenix, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
