Accountant - accounts payable (Phoenix, AZ)

Westbrook Harbor Care Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for licensing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Phoenix. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with licensing. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Phoenix, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
