Accountant - accounts payable (Phoenix, AZ)

Westbrook Ember Manufacturing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for tooling, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tooling, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with tooling. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Phoenix. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
