Accountant - accounts payable (Philadelphia, PA)

We are growing our team at Lumen Vista Water Authority and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with treatment plant data. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
