Accountant - accounts payable (Omaha, NE)

We are growing our team at Lumen Rook Manufacturing Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 122 people based in Omaha. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lines, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around scrap and rework against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with production lines. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Omaha, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
