Accountant - accounts payable (Omaha, NE)

Fernwood Field Staffing is a Omaha staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Recruiters here keep in touch with people long after placement. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around retention against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with timekeeping. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Omaha. • We reply to every applicant.
