Accountant - accounts payable (Oakland, CA)

Clearpath Willow Auto Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for service appointments, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service appointments. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
