Accountant - accounts payable (Oakland, CA)

Clearpath Sparrow Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for customer tracking, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We reward reliability. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tracking, and clear open items. • Track costs around carrier rates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with customer tracking. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
