Accountant - accounts payable (Oakland, CA)

Greenridge Union Legal Group provides legal services in Oakland across employment, housing and small-business law. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 84 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around document review against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with billing records.
