Accountant - accounts payable (Oakland, CA)

Ironwood Meridian Legal Group is a law firm in Oakland serving businesses and individuals. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to intake forms, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around trust accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with intake forms. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
