Accountant - accounts payable (New Orleans, LA)

Westbrook Keystone Inspection Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for test reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 886 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with test reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
