Accountant - accounts payable (New Orleans, LA)

Rivermark Forge Energy is an energy provider in New Orleans focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage response, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with outage response. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
