Accountant - accounts payable (New Orleans, LA)

Foxglove Kestrel Pharma is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for clinical studies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. People move between science and operations roles. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinical studies, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around release testing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with clinical studies. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in New Orleans. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
