Accountant - accounts payable (Nashville, TN)

Northwind Vista Manufacturing is a Nashville manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Track costs around production lines against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Nashville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
