Accountant - accounts payable (Nashville, TN)

Cedar Iron Housing Partners manages affordable housing communities across Nashville, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 81 people based in Nashville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident services, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with resident services. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
