Accountant - accounts payable (Nashville, TN)

Redstone Glen Foods Group makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in Nashville, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around sanitation schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer specifications. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Nashville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
