Accountant - accounts payable (Minneapolis, MN)

Clearpath Cross Transit Planning Group plans bus and rail service for cities around Minneapolis, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to survey data, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with survey data. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Minneapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
