Accountant - accounts payable (Minneapolis, MN)

Westbrook Quarry Inspection Services is an inspection company in Minneapolis with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Minneapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
