Accountant - accounts payable (Minneapolis, MN)

Ironwood Junction Markets Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for pricing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 401 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pricing, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
