Accountant - accounts payable (Minneapolis, MN)

Stonegate Iron Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Minneapolis, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 702 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Minneapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
