Accountant - accounts payable (Minneapolis, MN)

Stonegate Willow Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Minneapolis, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 70 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer estimates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Minneapolis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
