Accountant - accounts payable (Minneapolis, MN)

Lumen Harbor Transit Planning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 57 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with route schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
