Accountant - accounts payable (Miami, FL)

Nova Timber Learning Group Partners runs classrooms and tutoring across the Miami area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 24 people based in Miami. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around learning materials against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with student accounts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Miami. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
