Accountant - accounts payable (Miami, FL)

Lumen Forge Freight Group moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Miami, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 702 people based in Miami. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Track costs around carrier rates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
