Accountant - accounts payable (Memphis, TN)

We are growing our team at Nova Linden Banking Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with branch operations. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Memphis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
