Accountant - accounts payable (Memphis, TN)

Redstone Amber Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Memphis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
